Premier CEO Dr. Emad Rizk Joins National Academy of Medicine Steering Group for Patient Safety in the Era of AI

Premier, Inc., a leading technology-driven healthcare improvement company, today announced that President and CEO Dr. Emad Rizk, has joined the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Steering Group for its Patient Safety in the Era of AI initiative. The prestigious, multi-year collaboration brings together leading healthcare, technology, policy and patient advocacy organizations to examine how artificial intelligence (AI) can help reduce preventable harm and improve patient outcomes at scale.

As part of the initiative, Premier will help inform a national, AI-enabled strategy for safer care by leveraging its unique combination of data, technology, clinical expertise and operational improvement capabilities.

Premier’s Dr. Abhi Sharma, will also support the initiative alongside Dr. Rizk, helping connect insights and strategies to Premier members through Premier’s AI Collaborative. The AI Collaborative is designed to help health systems de-risk AI adoption, eliminate low-value AI spend and convert technology investments into measurable operational and clinical ROI.
