Enigma Networks®, the pioneer of Zero Trust for Internal Networks (ZTNX), today announced the Summer 2026 release of Enigma AI, expanding its Internal Trust Governance platform with automated enforcement and radically simplified AI-powered micro-segmentation to automatically detect and contain threats before they can spread.
The release comes as AI is fundamentally changing the economics and speed of cyberattacks. As frontier AI models compress the time between vulnerability discovery and exploitation, perimeter defenses are no longer enough. The decisive battle has evolved from keeping attackers out to governing what attackers can do once they’re inside.
“For decades the industry poured billions into fortifying the perimeter while internal security was left behind,” said Bob Moul, Co-Founder and CEO of Enigma Networks. “AI has shattered the illusion that we can keep attackers out. The defining challenge now is limiting the damage when they get in. When attacks move at machine speed, trust decisions and enforcement must move at machine speed too.”
From Internal Trust Governance to Automated Enforcement
By connecting Internal Trust Governance directly to automated enforcement, Enigma AI continuously determines which internal communications should exist, automatically enforces those decisions through existing security controls, and continuously validates enforcement as environments evolve. Together, these capabilities deliver the industry’s first end-to-end Security Control Plane for internal networks – the missing architectural layer in Zero Trust.
New and expanded integrations allow Enigma AI to:
- Generate least-privilege segmentation policies based on the communications assets actually require.
- Activate existing firewall controls such as Fortinet and Palo Alto to eliminate unnecessary communication paths and enforce segmentation policies.
- Trigger endpoint isolation through EDR platforms such as CrowdStrike when an asset violates established trust policies or presents a threat.
- Continuously validate enforcement as assets, applications and communications change.
- Maintain a complete event record of trust changes, policy violations and resulting actions for compliance, investigations, and attack reconstruction.
The result is a continuously governed internal network that automatically removes unnecessary trust, limits lateral movement, and contains threats before they become widespread breaches.
AI Makes Micro-segmentation Radically Easier
Micro-segmentation has long been recognized as an important component of Zero Trust but has failed to gain wide-spread adoption. Projects often require months of application dependency mapping, manual policy creation and ongoing rule maintenance, making them difficult to deploy and sustain.
Enigma AI uses artificial intelligence to automate much of that process – continuously learning the role, purpose and behavior of assets to automatically generate and validate least-privilege segmentation policies as environments evolve.
The result is a fundamentally simpler approach to micro-segmentation – transforming it from a complex, point-in-time project into a continuously governed security process.
“Zero Trust changed how we think about users, but internal asset-to-asset trust was never fully addressed,” said Mark Viglione, Co-Founder and CTO of Enigma Networks. “Organizations accumulated enormous numbers of trusted connections over decades, and attackers learned to use those connections as infrastructure for lateral movement. In a world of machine-speed attacks, we can’t manually govern that trust anymore. AI finally gives us the ability to do it continuously and at scale.”
The Summer 2026 release is available immediately to customers and partners worldwide.
About Enigma Networks
Enigma Networks is the creator of the ZTNX category and the developer of Enigma AI, the first platform purpose-built to deliver Internal Trust Governance at enterprise scale. Enigma AI determines which asset connections should exist – and eliminates those that shouldn’t – so attackers can’t hide and breaches can’t spread. Enigma AI deploys seamlessly across IT, OT, IoT, AI, and cloud – no agents, no disruption, no maintenance. Enigma Networks is backed by early-stage investors including Osage Venture Partners and United Effects Ventures. For more information, visit www.getenigma.ai.
